WORKING PEOPLE FOR FLORENCE: LOCAL ONE IATSE ENDORSES INDEPENDENT PROSECUTOR DIANA FLORENCE FOR MANHATTAN DA
Local One IATSE: “Manhattan deserves a District Attorney who will prosecute crime, not protect criminals. Working people want to feel safe again and we want a DA who will focus on our quality of life in Manhattan, not partisan politics. And we know we can trust Independent Prosecutor Diana Florence to do the job–nothing more, nothing less.”
New York – Today, Local One International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) endorsed Diana Florence’s Independent campaign for Manhattan District Attorney. The union, which represents stagehands and other entertainment industry workers, praised Florence’s independence as a prosecutor and her commitment to keeping workers safe and prosecuting crime, unlike DA Alvin Bragg. As an Assistant District Attorney under Robert M. Morgenthau, Florence launched the Construction Fraud Task Force and took on big companies that cheated New Yorkers and abused workers. Florence won groundbreaking convictions, fighting against corruption, domestic violence, wage left, and deadly working conditions. Local One IATSE joins a growing list of labor unions supporting the Florence for DA campaign, including the Iron Workers, Plumbers Local 1, Steamfitters Local 638, and Insulators Local 12.
Florence is running for Manhattan DA as an Independent on the “Safer Manhattan” line in the November election.

Prosecutor Diana Florence said: “I am honored to welcome Local 1 IATSE to our broad coalition of support from New Yorkers of all walks of life. Working people deserve to feel safe again – that starts with a DA who will prosecute crime and protect families, not criminals. And working people deserve a fair shake – that takes a DA who values their work and will stand up for them. That’s what I’ve done for my entire career as an independent prosecutor, and it’s the change I’ll bring to the DA’s office when we defeat Alvin Bragg in November.”
