Florence’s Independent Campaign Lands Second Labor Endorsement
New York, NY – Today, Steamfitters Local 638, one of New York’s most diverse and historic labor unions, endorsed Diana Florence for Manhattan District Attorney. The 141 year old union, representing thousands of steamfitters across the five boroughs, praised Florence’s experience and commitment to public safety over extreme politics. As an Assistant District Attorney under Robert M. Morgenthau, Florence launched the Construction Fraud Task Force and led the fight against big companies that cheated New Yorkers and abused workers. Steamfitters Local 638 is Florence’s second labor endorsement along with Insulators Local 12. Florence is running for Manhattan DA as an Independent on the “Safer Manhattan” line in the November election.
